0.25 Balboa Coin & Hospital del Nino

Panama, interestingly enough, uses US dollars as their currency, and have no notes of their own in circulation. However, they do have their own coins, and their currency Balboa, which are pegged 1:1 with the US dollar. So 0.25 Balboa would be equal to $0.25. I took this picture during a one week trip to Panama. I went for a debate conference and this picture was taken on the last day, a few hours before I was about to fly back to Canada. I got an Uber English, an actual Uber type in Panama with drivers that can speak English (if you go to Panama you’ll realize how rare that is), and told him about the currency project and that I wanted to go to a couple of places. He loved the idea and agreed! We went first to Hospital del Nino, or children’s hospital, where he parked to the side and I crossed the road to take the picture! You can even see his red car on the right!
