0.50 Balboa Coin & Banco Nacional de Panama

Panama, interestingly enough, uses US dollars as their currency, and have no notes of their own in circulation. However, they do have their own coins, and their currency Balboa, which are pegged 1:1 with the US dollar. So 0.25 Balboa would be equal to $0.25. I took this picture during a one week trip to Panama. I went for a debate conference and this picture was taken on the last day, a few hours before I was about to fly back to Canada. I got an Uber English, an actual Uber type in Panama with drivers that can speak English (if you go to Panama you’ll realize how rare that is), and told him about the currency project and that I wanted to go to a couple of places. He loved the idea and agreed! After the hospital, we came to Bank of Panama, or Banco Panama, in the middle of busy downtown Panama City. The Uber driver parked on the side and I stepped out to take this photo. It was a bit tough considering the building is fairly tall and it was hard fitting the coin and the building in the same frame, but after a bunch of tries I finally got it!
