500 Rupee Note & Badshahi Mosque

I took this picture when I went to Lahore on for a conference in 2016. It was after the conference, when I had to go back to Islamabad. My flight was scheduled for 9:30am, and I had to make sure to get to the airport on time, so my friends and I went to Badshahi Mosque early in the morning at 6am. However, the mosque was closed then and we could not go in. I knew I wouldn’t be able to take the picture for a while if I don’t right now, so I risked it and decided to come to the mosque at 8am again. I knew it would be hard to get an Uber back to the hotel, so I asked the Uber driver to wait there so I could call just him for a ride back. I ran to go inside and took the picture, and thankfully found the usually-busy mosque very empty then (since it was 8am). I did have some trouble finding a 2 rupee coin, which has Badshahi Mosque on it as well, but that’s a story for the 2 rupee coin picture.
